Day 1

After four days of driving cross country, which I'll talk more about later, I finally arrived in SoCal around 10:30pm Sunday night. Unfortunately, I was way too exhausted and sick (I have a cold) to be too excited about it, but it's nice being here, especially with all the rain I hear that the east coast has been having. Also, it's nice to be out of the car since Atari has been meowed for almost the entire ride. I still have a little bit of a residual headache about it. I woke up early yesterday, hung out with my roommate K for a while, then got dressed and headed over to work to pick up my paycheck, meet everyone, and check out my new office. Pretty cool. Lots of porn sets, but that's on one side of the office and I'm on the other. The drive isn't far from my house - about 15 minutes - which is shorter than my new york commute was and pretty much unimaginable as far as los angeles commutes go.

After that, I headed over to Ralph's, a grocery store, and picked up some tasty healthy food (although I had to grab some jello pudding pops too since I have been looking for them for years!). It seems food is a little more expensive out here, but maybe not. I did buy a few things I won't be buying every week (shampoo, conditioner, razor, etc.) so that jacked up the price about $15. So, maybe after I count that out $60 isn't too terrible.

Then I headed home, made some lunch and worked from home for a while. My computer and office stuff isn't arriving until Thursday at the office, so it's sort of pointless for me to go in there until it does. The rest of the day was spent napping, calling friends, and putting stuff away from the move. Seriously, exciting, but that's what happens when you're sick. The weather is nice though - about 65 - and it's sunny so that makes everything feel easier to do when you're not feeling your best.
